I don’t usually use references to draw my characters’ faces – I mostly just make them up. But some of the features of the old eunuch in this week’s update are based on a certain former Chinese government official. I suppose the fact that I made him an evil eunuch tells you a little about what I think of him…

Ha… judging from the outcome over the years, they weren’t all that good at controlling the concubine population: some kings were know to have “3000 concubines”, that might’ve been a figure of speech, but still…
man… can never trust a eunuch! Indeed… the asian harems of old were quite vast… so vast that there were even tales of “false eunuchs” being obtained to entertain the bored concubines…
Indeed, some of those harems were so large a good number of the concubines never actually got to meet the king. Although given what we know about the ancient kings, that might not be such a bad thing.

From the “Bimbo Eruptions” reference I assume you’re talking about Bill Clinton. While he is famously adulterous, that’s hardly a rarity among his fellow politicians. And if he was alive during the time of the Three Kingdoms, what he did would not count as adultery at all – back then the concept of adultery only applied to women. Men were pretty much expected to “do the hanky panky” whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Thank goodness we’ve evolved since those times. Or have we…?

Women where indeed subdued, but as we can see, he who lose the war, actually often win(Japan, Germany)…Africans all told me, despite women being treated as animals there, it was the guys who where the most miserable as the women made their life hell…monogamy was just a distant dream. Ask anyone who is not a pure jackass how he enjoy the juggling act between wives and mistresses. Of course sociopaths like Clinton or past potentates are not affected by the mood of their entourage, all they see is the reflection in their mirrors!
